31-year-old pregnant woman unexpectedly went into labour while travelling in a taxi, leaving the rest of the passengers in panic and confusion.

They immediately alerted the driver, who quickly pulled over to look into the situation. Traffic police, who were nearby, soon arrived at the scene to find out what was going on in the minibus. “The lady had gone into sudden labour. Traffic officers stationed close by went to inspect what was happening. They found the lady was in labour and immediately called paramedics,” says Nick Dollman, Netcare 911 spokesperson.

The rest of the passengers were ordered out of the vehicle to give some space and privacy to the woman who was just about to give birth. "Looking at the situation, there was hardly any time left to transfer her to the ambulance. So the rest of the passengers had to leave the taxi to create space and provide privacy for the lady in labour,” says Dollman.
