GUNMEN KILLED INSPECTOR OF POLICE IN IMO STATE
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, The police officer was shot dead on Sunday by gunmen. the incident took place at Umudagu, Mberi, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state. The Inspector, whose name was mentioned earlier, was at Chief Nlemigbo’s compound at Umudagu when the gunmen arrived at about 8pm.
Chief Nlemigbo told newsmen in Owerri that there was exchange of gunfire between the the gunmen and late Insp. Ogbe during which he (the inspector) was killed unfortunately. The source added that Chief Nlemigbo, who had just returned from the October Lecture of the Grail Movement, Nigeria, in Owerri, was inside his house when the exchange of gunfire took place.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state Police Command, Andrew Enwerem, confirmed the incident.
Enwerem said the officer was shot and killed on Sunday night. The police are using all means at their disposal to expose and to prosecute those behind the incident,” he said.CLICK HERE for more details
